House Fire - Weiner Ave

On Friday March 22, 2019 at 1:06 am the Harrington Fire Co. was dispatched for a house fire in the 200 Block of Weiner Ave.  While responding firefighters were advised the homeowner was reporting an electrical outlet on fire and smoke in the residence.  Firefighters arrived on scene  and found a light smoke condition in the residence and an surge protector that had caught fire and melted.  Firefighters checked the outlet and wall with a thermal imaging camera and confirmed the fire was contained to the surge protector and did not spread to the wall.  The scene was placed under control and all units cleared the scene.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, 50-4, B-50 and Harrington PD.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  1st Asst.
