With the online registration process, residents will now have the ability to enter and update their own information. This will allow for their information to be more complete and accurate. As we move to a newer process, there may be some residents that have information that was updated incorrectly or is wrong/lost, we apologize for this error. Subscriptions can still be accepted by check mailed with the bottom portion of the letter received in the mail.
Each year the Harrington Fire Company solicits for support of the Emergency Medical Services division of the company through the Ambulance Subscription program. This request is offered to residents that live within the Harrington Fire Company Ambulance district which does provide ambulance service to a portion of the Farmington area.
In order to recover the costs associated with providing ambualnce service, patients that are transported to hospital and those who require evaluation but chose not to be transported are billed for service. The Harrington Fire Company uses an outside billing agency to perform this task. Through this billing company, patients that are transported to the hospital will have their insurance company billed for service first. Due to medical necessity, interpretation or unavailability of information insurance companies may decline the claim. When a claim is denied or not fully covered the person receiving the service may receive a bill from our billing company. In cases where a person does not have insurance the individual may also receive a bill from our billing company. In order to continue to provide ambulance service all attempts to recoup costs associated with providing service, claims that are declined by insurance compaines, or claims not fully funded with or without insurance may be turned over to a collection company used by the Harrington Fire Company. This is where the ambulance subscription program plays a role.
For a minimum cost of $75.00 from a residence, any transport to the hospital that is unpaid expense for the transport will be covered under the ambulance subscription. This means no out of pocket expense for anyone who lives in that residence for ambulance service.
Subscription in this plan is open only to persons residing in the Harrington Ambulance District. Each residence making a minimum contribution of $75 will receive ambulance service at no out of pocket cost to area hospitals for themselves and permanent residents living in the SAME household. Additional donations are accepted and appreciated with the additional amount over $75 being tax deductible. When you sign up online there is an area for you to provide the names of those residing at this address. This information may be necessary to prove validity in receiving this ambulance service benefit. This service will be good for as many trips as are necessary during the one year period, providing the ambulance service is available and requested as emergency service.
Because of the increased cost of providing our community with quality emergency transportation, Harrington Fire Company will bill your Medicare, Medicaid or health insurance policy. We will accept whatever your primary and/or secondary insurance pays for our services. Your subscription covers co-pay, deductible or non-covered charges. Even if your claim is denied, your ambulance subscription covers all of our charges and you will not be billed.
Subscription in this plan is effective for 12 consecutive months beginning April 1st of each year and ending March 31st of the following year. All memberships will expire on March 31st regardless of when they were initiated. Prorated subscriptions are not available.
Subscription cards are available when you register online for membership and can be accessed at https://admin.eservicestech.com/p/Harrington/membership. Subscription membership cards will not be mailed.
