On Friday October 4, 2024 at 1802 hrs. the Harrington and Farmington Fire Companies, Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Vernon Rd. and Whitelysburg Rd. Harrington units were participating in the Lake Forest High School Homecoming Parade and made a quick response. Units arrived on scene to find a two vehicle accident with one subject trapped. The trapped subject was quickly extricated and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Four other subjects were evaluated on scene and refused treatment. Crews then checked the vehicles for any hazards and cleared the roadway of debris. DSP Trooper 2 was cancelled prior to arrival. The scene was then placed under control and turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.
