Today (03/23/2018), at approximately 0955 hrs., the station, along with Farmington (Tanker Co.) , Houston (Engine Co.) and Greenwood (Ladder Co.) Fire Companies were alerted for a residential structure fire in the unit block of Commerce St. Units arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of the residence. Entry was forced through a side door by crews and a hose line was advanced to the interior of same. Crews discovered a malfunctioning heater in a rear utility room that also charged the rear of the residence with smoke, causing damage to same. The incident was placed under control and held to the units on scene. Felton (Sta. 48) was alerted for the cover up assignment to the station; however, were canceled when the scene was placed under control.
