On Wednesday January 5, 2022 at approximately 2:07 pm the Harrington, Felton, Greenwood (Sussex County, DE) and Greensboro (Caroline County, MD) Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched for a residential structure fire in the 3700 Block of Brownsville Rd. Units arrived on scene to a single story single family dwelling with smoke inside the residence. Crews investigated and found and active fire in a rear bedroom and determined all the residents had evacuated the residence. Crews placed on hose line in service and quickly extinguished the fire and secured the utilities. Crews also performed overhaul and ventilation. The scene was placed under control and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal Office for further investigation. UNITS ON SCENE: 50 Command, Engine 50-4, Tower 50, Engine 604, B-48, Fire Police and FM-12. All other units were cancelled prior to arrival. OFFICER IN CHARGE: Fire Chief Robbie Brode.
