Harrington and Houston Fire Companies Respond to MVC with Reported Entrapment

August 11, 2025

On Monday August 11, 2025 at 0944 hrs. the Harrington and Houston Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment on Carpenter Bridge Rd. in the area of Winkler Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find a dump truck had rolled over with one occupant still inside the vehicle.  Crews were able to speak to the driver of the dump truck who reported he was not injured but could not get out of the dump truck.  Crews arrived on scene and removed he windshield of the truck and the driver was able exit the truck.  He was evaluated by EMS but refused transport.  Crews then secured fluid leaks from the vehicle and checked for any other hazards.  The scene was then placed under control and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.  DSP Aviation was cancelled prior to arrival.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Engine 50-5, Rescue 50, Rescue 52, Ambulances C-50 and A-52, Fire Police, DSP and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Chief Robbie Brode.
