On Tuesday August 4, 2026 at 0758 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company, Kent County EMS, Greenwood and Houston Fire Company EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of South Dupont Hwy. and fairgrounds Rd. Units arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle accident with one vehicle on its side and confirmed two subjects were injured. The occupant of the overturned vehicle was still inside the vehicle and due to the vehicles position on its side, was unable to get out. Crews stabilized the vehicle and removed the occupant and the occupant was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The occupant of the other vehicle was treated by EMS units on scene and then transported to the landing zone which was south of the scene on the Delaware State Fairgrounds. DSP Trooper 2 then airlifted the subject to a local trauma center for treatment. Crews then checked the vehicles for any hazards, and the scene was placed under control. All units cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.
