A plague was placed on this truck that read "Tanker/Pumper 50-2 Placed In Service 1987, In Memory of C. Douglas Mills, Who Serviced as Chief From 1950 - 1962". For the first years of being in service firefighters were able to ride on the backstep as the truck came equipped with a safety bar.
