Gas Leak - Benjamin St
Saturday, April 25, 2020

On Saturday April 25, 2020 at 10:40 am the Harrington Fire Company was alerted for an outside gas leak in the 200 Block of Benjamin St.  Command 50 and 50-4 arrived first and determined a natural gas line had been struck by a subject operating a back hoe and was actively leaking.  50-4 secured a water supply at a near-by hydrant and stretched a hand line.  50-5 arrived and stood by at the hydrant.  Units remained on scene until the arrival of Chesapeake Utilities.  Chesapeake arrived and secured the leak.  The scene was then placed under control and all units cleared the scene.  All units then cleared the scene.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Engine 50-4, Engine 50-5 and Ambulance A-50.  While members responded to this call there was an additional 25-30 fire companies members who were at the Delaware State Fairgrounds assisting in a joint Fundraising event with Mountaire Farms.
