Brush Fire - Whitelysburg Rd

On Friday June 26, 2020 at 1337 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company was dispatched to a field/brush fire on Whitelysburg Rd. in the area of Pine Pitch Rd. Units arrived on scene and found a large wheat field fire rapidly spreading towards a wooded area. Command requested additional brush units, tankers and ATV’s from several surrounding mutual aid companies. The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes and units remained on scene performing overhaul. It all, it was estimated that 20-25 acres were damaged during the course of the incident. We would like to thank our mutual aid companies for their assistance on scene as well as covering our station.
