Harrington Fire Company responds to two working fires and MVC with Entrapment in two days

Over a two day period the Harrington Fire Company responded to two working house fires and a MVC with entrapment.  On Friday June 18, 2021 at 1846 hrs. the Harrington, Felton, Houston and Carlisle (Milford) fire companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched for a residential structure fire in the 900 Block of Ambler Court.  Units arrived on scene to find a single story residence with heavy smoke showing.  Units found a fire in the attached garage.  The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes and units remained on scene for overhaul.  On Saturday June 19, 2021 at 0335 hrs. the Harrington, Houston, Farmington and Greenwood Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched for a residential structure fire in the 200 Block of Fox Hunters Rd.  Units arrived on scene and found a two story residence with fire through the roof.  The fire was brought under control in approximately one hour and units remained on scene for overhaul.  Asst. Chief Danny McLaughlin was Incident Commander for both incidents and both are being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’ Office (FM-15).  Later in the evening of the 19th at 2122 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company was dispatched for the Rescue and Ambulance assist the Houston Fire Company with a MVC with entrapment on Milford-Harrington Hwy. and Deer Valley Rd.  Units arrived to find a two vehicle MVC with entrapment in to separate vehicles and one subject heavily entrapped.  Harrington units worked with Houston and EMS Units for approximately one hour to free the subject.  Delaware State Police are investigating the accident.  Deputy Chief Bobby Scott Houston Fire Company was Incident Commander.  Due to the seriousness of the Accident and out of respect for all parties involved there will be no photos released on the accident.
