Fatal Vehicle Accident South DuPont Hwy. and Tower Hill Rd.
Wednesday, April 27, 2022

On Wednesday April 27, 2022 at 10:27 am the Harrington Fire Company, Farmington Fire Co. (Rescue Assist), Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of South DuPont Hwy. and Tower Hill Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find an accident involving a passenger car and tractor trailer.  The driver of the vehicle was rapidly extricated from the vehicle and transported by DSP Trooper 2 to Christina Hospital.  The passenger of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.  The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.  The scene was then placed under control and all units remained on scene assist police units.  All units then cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Engine 50-1, Rescue 50, Rescue 47, Traffic Control 47, Ambulance B-50 and C-50, Fire Police, Del-Dot, KM-8, KM-5, DSP Trooper 2, DSP CRU, DSP Patrol Units and Harrington PD.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Robbie Brode.  Due to the nature of the incident and out of respect for all parties involved no photos will be released.
