MVC with Wires Down on South DuPont Hwy @ Delaware Ave.

On Friday March 10, 2023 at 2:31 am the Harrington Fire Company was dispatched to an electrical hazard on South DuPont Hwy. in the area of Delaware Ave. Units arrived on scene and confirmed that the wires down was a result of a vehicle accident with a vehicle on his side and one subject injured. Crews determined that three poles were down with live electric lines down across the north and southbound lanes of South Dupont Hwy. along with Delaware Ave. Crews were able to get the injured subject to the ambulance for transport to a local hospital. Crews then remained on scene awaiting the arrival of Delmarva Power. Delmarva Power then arrived and secured the power and crews checked the vehicle and determined there were no other occupants. The scene was then placed under control. Del-Dot was requested for traffic control due to roadway being shut down for an extended period of time. All fire units then cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
