Residential Rescue in Harrington with Fly Out
Sunday, August 4, 2024

On Sunday August 4, 2024 at 1726 hours the Harrington Fire Company along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a residential rescue in the 5600 Block of Fox Hunter Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find a subject in a bucket truck suffering from serious injuries.  Units determined that while the patient was still inside the bucket, the truck had mechanical issues causing the bucket to fall down without any hydraulics and crash into the side of the truck.  The injured subject was treated by EMS on scene and transported to a local trauma center by DSP Trooper 2.  The scene was placed under control and all units cleared the scene.  The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Tower 50, Rescue 50, Engine 50-5, Ambulance A-50, KM-8, DSP Trooper 2, DSP Patrol Units and Fire Police.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Asst. Chief Derrick Brode.
