MVC Involving Snow Mobiles with Fly Out in Harrington

On Monday January 26, 2026 at 13:35 hours the Harrington Fire Company, Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched for a vehicle accident involving a snow mobile on South DuPont Hwy. north of Winkler Rd.  Units arrived on scene and determined that two snowmobiles had collided in a field approximately 500 foot off of the roadway.  Command then requested gators to the scene to assist with transporting the injured patients.  Once EMS units accessed the patients, they confirmed that two subjects were injured and one sustained a serious leg injury.  Both patients were treated and packaged and were removed from the field by the gators.  One patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and one patient was flown by DSP Trooper 2 to a local trauma center.  Command then placed the scene under control and all units cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.   UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Command 50, Rescue 50, Engine 50-5, Brush 50, Ambulances A-48, A-50 and C-50, KM-8, KM-5, DSP Trooper 2, DSP Patrol Units and Fire Police.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
