Mountaire Chicken Sale

On 4/25/2020 the Harrington Fire Company, Inc partnered with Mountaire for a drive through chicken sale at the Quillen Arena within the Delaware State Fair complex. Customers arrived beginning at 530am, with the sale running 9am-1pm. Due to the large amount of vehicles left at 1pm, we continued the sale and worked until 3pm to get all the cars through. In all, it is estimated almost 240,000 lbs. of product was sold to customers today and approximately 2,500 vehicles were served.

We understand there are some patrons who may have left the event early due to lengthy lines and wait times, unable to get all the product they were requesting or felt the event wasn’t quite as organized as it could have been. We sincerely apologize if we fell short as it was our intentions to provide adequate service and product to our community and customers. Every person working the event was there on their own time volunteering and worked throughout the event to make it as easy as possible for everyone involved. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and their continued support. We couldn’t do this without you all.

While working the event, the station was alerted for a residential gas leak in the unit block of Benjamin St. Crews handled the gas leak while continuing to work the event.
