Trailer Fire with Injury

On Wednesday November 3, 2021 at 8:42 am the Harrington, Farmington, Houston and Felton Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the first block of Central Park Dr.  Units arrived on scene to find a single wide trailer with a light smoke condition inside and one adult male suffering from non-life threatening facial burns.  Crews investigated and determined that a heater inside the residence exploded and the fire had self-extinguished.   Crews confirmed the damage was contained to the heater.  The injured subject was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.  The scene was then placed under control and all units cleared the scene.  The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal Office for investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Engine 50-4, Engine 50-1, Rescue 52, Ambulance A-50, KM-8-B, KM-10, FM-28, Harrington PD and Fire Police.  All other units were cancelled prior to arrival.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Chief Kenny Brode.
