Accident in Harrington with Entrapment and Fly Out

On Thursday November 14, 2024 at 12:07 am the Harrington and Houston Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment on South Dupont Hwy. in front of Rudy's Diner.  Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle on its roof with one subject trapped. Crews determined that the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, several mailboxes and several signs.   Crews extricated the lone occupant in approximately 10 minutes.  The patient was packaged and treated on scene and then turned over to DSP Trooper 2 who transported the patient to a local trauma center.  The scene was then placed under control and turned over to the Harrington Police Department for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Rescue 50, Engines 50-5, 52-5, 52-2, Brush 50, Ambulance A-50, KM-8, KM-5, DSP Trooper 2, DSP Patrol, Harrington PD, Fire Police and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
