Fully Involved House Fire in Harrington
Tuesday, April 8, 2025

On Tuesday April 8, 2025 at approximately 1930 hrs. the Harrington, Farmington, Houston and Greenwood Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched to a house fire on Fairgrounds Rd. in Harrington.  Units arrived on scene to find a single story, single family dwelling fully involved.  Engine 50-4 arrived first and established a water supply at a near by hydrant and placed two hand lines in service.  Deputy Chief Robbie Brode was assigned Operations and Fire Chief Kenny Brode established the Harrington Command.   Additional crews arrived and placed additional hand lines in service.  The scene was placed under control in approximately one hour.  Crews then conducted primary and secondary searches along with extensive overhaul.  All units cleared he scene by 2200 hrs.  The scene was then turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal Office for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Engines 50-4, 50-1, 52-5, 52-2 and 78-4, Tanker 47, Tanker 50, Tower 50, Quint 78, Rescue 50, Rescue 47, Command 47, Utility 50-8, Ambulances B-50, C-50 and B-52, KM-8, Delmarva Power, FM-5, FM-14 and Fire Police.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
