Accident Involving School Bus in Harrington

On Monday May 5, 2025 at 14:52 hours the Harrington and Felton Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a school bus at the intersection of Hopkins Cemetery Rd. and Little Mastens Corner Rd. 50 Command arrived on location first and reported that an occupied school bus had collided with a trash truck and declared a Level 1 MCI. Additional EMS units were dispatched. As units arrived on scene EMS units began to Triage the subjects on the bus. A total of 7 patients were transported via ambulance with minor injuries. Units also assisted with reuniting the uninjured students with their parents who arrived on scene. Aviation units and additional ALS units were cancelled prior to arrival. Crews then check both vehicles for hazards. The scene was then placed under control and all units cleared the scene. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for Investigation. UNITS ON SCENE: 50 Command, Rescue 50, Squad 48, Engines 50-1 and 48-4, Brush 50, Ambulances B-50, C-50, B-48, A-52, A-49, B-78 and B-42, KM-8, Fire Police, DSP and Lake Forest School District Representatives.
