Serious Accident in Harrington with Entrapment
Thursday, March 12, 2026

On Thursday March 12, 2026 at approximately 1900 hours the Harrington Fire Company along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with an unconscious subject at the intersection of Carpenter Bridge Rd. and Jackson Ditch Rd.  Units arrived on scene and reported a single vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree, confirmed entrapment and determined the patient was Priority 1.    The Houston Fire Company was then alerted for the Rescue Assist.  The patient was extricated in approximately 10 minutes and determined to be in cardiac arrest.  The patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.  All units cleared the scene, and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Command 52, Ambulances A-50 and D-50, Engines 50-5 and 52-2, Rescue 50, Rescue 52, KM-8, KM-5, DSP Trooper 2, DSP Patrol Units, Harrington PD, Fire Police and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
