House Fire - Burrsville rd
Monday, August 12, 2019

On Monday August 12, 2019 at approximately 2:04 pm the Harrington, Farmington, Greenwood, Greensboro, MD and Denton, MD Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were alerted for a working house fire in the 3900 Block of Burrsville Rd. at the Delaware/Maryland Line.  Fire Chie Robbie Brode was the first to arrive and reported a two story single family residence with heavy smoke showing.  Firefighters arrived and placed several hose lines in service to extinguish the fire.  Quint 78 and Tower 50’s crews were sent to the roof to ventilate.  Additional manpower was requested on scene bringing the Houston Fire Co. to the scene.  The fire was brought under control in about 1 hour and units remained on scene for extensive overhaul.  One firefighter suffered a burn to the hand but did not require medical treatment. No other injuries were reported. The scene was then turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50-4, 50-2, 50-5, 50-8, A-50, B-50, Tower 50, Rescue 47, Quint 78, 78-2, 52-2, 302, 304, 604, 606, KM-8, FM-15, FM-12, FM-28 and Fire Police. OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Robbie Brode.
