Fatal Accident - Hopkins Cemetery Rd

On Saturday April 1, 2023 at 1:52 am the Harrington and Felton Fire Companies Fire Company along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment on Hopkins Cemetery Rd. in the Area of Fox Hunters Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find a pick up truck had rolled over several times and was on its side in a field.  The only occupant of the vehicle was assessed by EMS and pronounced deceased on scene.  The crews then checked the vehicle for any hazards and the scene was placed under control.  Units remained on scene assisting DSP.  All units then cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.  Aviation unit and Squad 48 were cancelled prior to arrival.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Command 50, Engine 50-1, Rescue 50, Ambulances B-48 and B-50, DSP Patrol Units and DSP CRU, Fire Police and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Asst. Chief Danny McLaughlin.  Due to the nature of the incident and out of respect for all parties involved there will be no photos released of the incident.
