Harrington Fire Co. Assists Houston with Fatal Accident

On Tuesday March 26, 2024 at 2125 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Houston Fire Company with a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Milford-Harrington Hwy. and Broad St.   Upon arrival crews found a two vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a dump truck and confirmed one subject heavily entrapped in the car. Crews began extrication and the driver, who was the only occupant of the car was pronounced deceased on scene.  The driver of the dump truck was not injured.    The subject was extricated from the vehicle in approximately 45 minutes.  Crews then remained on scene assisting the Delaware State Police.  All units then cleared the scene at approximatly 0130 hours and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.  The Harrington Fire Company responded with 50 Command, Ambulance C-50, Rescue 50 and Engines 50-5 and 50-1.  OIC of the Incident was Houston Fire Company Fire Chief Lance Mast.  Due to the nature of the incident and out of respect for all those involved no photos will be released on the incident.
