Vehicle Into Structure in Harrington

On Tuesday April 8, 2025 at 1757 hours the Harrington Fire Company was dispatched to a vehicle accident in the 8000 Block of Vernon Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find a vehicle had ran off the roadway and struck a fence and a pole building behind the residence.  The lone occupant of the vehicle self extricated prior to arrival.  The occupant was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.  Crews secured the utilities to the building and checked the structure.  The scene was then placed under control and units cleared the scene. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation. UNITS ON SCENE:  Chief Vehicle, Engine 50-5, Rescue 50, Brush 50, Ambulances B-50 and C-50, Harrington PD, DSP and Fire Police.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
